The Alberta Tartan was made an official emblem of Alberta in 1961. It was designed by Allison Lamb and the Edmonton Rehabilitation Society.
The colours represent green for the forests, gold for the wheat fields and pink for the wild rise, Alberta’s provincial flower, blue for the skies, lakes and rivers and black for the coal and oil.
This Alberta Tartan was handwoven by Cloth of Kin for the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta to offer as a gift to visiting dignitaries.
50% cotton and 50% viscose from bamboo
