Ancient Animals of the Burgess Shale Colouring Book

The Burgess Shale fossils are known to scientists around the world for their abundance, diversity and wonderful preservation. Examine a Burgess Shale fossil and you can see an arthropod’s delicate gills or the contents of its last meal revealed in the gut of a worm. With the aid of modern high resolution imaging, paleontologist are able to identify and study the internal organs of these ancient creatures. The animals of the Burgess Shale represent a marine community that existed about 508 million years ago.
