“When I work with stone, I feel like I am doing what I was “meant to do” and I truly am in a state of joy. I am so grateful for the opportunity to express myself in stone and to share it with others. It is my hope that people feel a connection to my work, and that the pieces bring something special to their living spaces… that may be simple enjoyment, a smile, or a deeper feeling.” -Lisa Douziech
Lisa Douziech is a stone sculptor and instructor in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She works in soapstone, chlorite and alabaster.
This is a sleek little bird, peacefully sitting singing a song or two. It is made from a wonderful piece of brown Brazilian soapstone. The tip of the tail is a very dark brown, moving up two shades as you reach the head.
