Caribou & the Rougarou
Kristi Bridgeman & Lisa Shepherd
In Métis culture, a Rougarous is a shape-shifter; a man/woman that changes into a Wolf. Caribou & the Rougarous questions who is to blame for the struggling numbers of Caribou and eventual disappearance of one of the Métis’ cultural identity pieces, the art of Caribou hair tufting.
Endemic flowers; the painted corners and the central caribou tufted flower are padula flowers; an old style whereby the flower is the artist’s creation.
