Dog Tuppy, Cariole & Métis Rose
Kristi Bridgeman & Lisa Shepherd
Excited dog teams, pulling a cariole, announce their arrival with a showy display of tuppies (“tapi” French for “rug”) trimmed in jingle bells, dancing fringe, tassels and feathers. This unique Métis tradition gives a sense of celebration and brightens up a Canadian winter.
The traditional Metis rose is featured in both pink and mauve beadwork and in the tuppy design. Also included are forget-me-nots, viola and padula flowers.
