“2 Ducks- A story of generational trauma. I grew up not understanding why my father had issues – issues that prevented me from connecting with my roots. As an adult, I am able to learn with compassion and context and forgive my father, knowing the things he went through. In many ways, the cycle of violence was broken between him and I. And this piece represents the story of looking back, learning, and wanting to share this journey with the world. For he is sometimes called “duck”, and I, by my uncle, am called “little duck” – Kashtin Apsassin
