Medalta Ware is made using historic techniques, moulds, glazes and machinery originally used back in 1912 at Medalta Potteries. They are produced by skilled artisans at the historic Medalta site. Pieces are fired with natural gas that is pumped from under the facility.
Medalta is an innovative, industrial non-profit museum, contemporary ceramic arts facility, art gallery and community hub in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. Spout is similar to the classic dripless spouts popularized by British Brown Betty teapots in the late 1930s.
