Happy July!
From festivals to road trips, from weddings to birthdays! There is so much going on this July, and the RAM Shop is here to curate an amazing selection of products and pieces to enhance your summer and make it the best one yet.
Celebrating Festival City
Summer of 2022 festivals are in full swing here in the festival city, and we sure did miss going to them. We’re here to help you get ready to get outside and experience the best food, music and performances that #YEG offers.
July 8 – 17 – The Street Performer’s Festival
Come and visit our RAM neighbors – the street performer’s festival. This festival features world-class performers, including some local talent! Feel like you’re jumping through hoops sometimes? The festival claims that in 38 years of running, the performers have used “an infinity of hula hoops,” meaning… a lot. Like, a lot, a lot.”
July 21 – 31 – Taste of Edmonton
Right around the corner from RAM, Churchill Square welcomes back this Edmonton legacy festival. Taste of Edmonton will get up and running for ten days beginning on July 21. What a great way to celebrate all of the local flavors! The Museum Shop is a proud supporter of local foodies like; Duchess, Meuwly’s, Jacek, Violet Chocolate and Pei Pei Chei Ow, to name a few! Treats make the perfect hostess or birthday gift this summer, from spreads and jams to cookbooks. Stop by and say Hi while you’re downtown.
July 30 – August 1 – Edmonton Heritage Fest
The Edmonton Heritage Festival is a staple of our community. Not only is there amazing food and drink to be tried at this festival but within Hawrelak Park, there are 25+ stages ready to showcase some brilliant talent representing people all over Alberta and the world. Here at the Royal Alberta Museum, we honor and appreciate the diverse cultures that make up our incredible province. If you would like to read more on what makes Alberta such a unique and culturally diverse province, here are some great reading materials sold in the RAM Shop.
Your very own RAM curated Edmonton festival checklist:
A Hat to Cover the Sun
The quickest way to end a fun day in the sun? A bad sunburn. Make sure to cover your eyes and face from the harsh summer sun. Grab a functional and fashionable hat for the coming festivals.
Water bottle to keep you cool (and safe)
Remember to stay hydrated! Hundreds of Albertans every year get sick or even die from heat stroke or heat-related illnesses. Keeping a water bottle on you at all times is a great idea to stop those heat-related illnesses in their tracks.
Festival survival kit for all those unexpected emergencies
Including a rain poncho, eating utensils, ear plugs and more! Everything you may need for all of the fantastic festivals listed above.
